Delphax to Showcase World’s Fastest Cut-Sheet, Color Inkjet Printer at Drupa 2016

The fastest printer in its class, the Delphax elanTM 500, delivers up to 500 A4 Impressions per minute and features advanced high-quality Memjet print heads

Drupa 2016 in Dusseldorf, Germany from May 31 to June 10, 2016 – Hall 5 Booth C24

Minneapolis – April 20, 2016 Delphax Technologies Inc. (OTC: DLPX), a global provider of high-speed digital color printing systems, today announced its plans to showcase the world’s fastest cut-sheet color, inkjet printer in its class – the Delphax elanTM 500 – at the Drupa 2016 tradeshow in Dusseldorf, Germany from May 31 to June 10, 2016 – Hall 5 Booth C24.

Engineered for a low capital acquisition and on-going running cost, the Delphax elan 500 combines Memjet’s advanced inkjet print heads with Delphax’s high-speed paper-handling technology in a robust production class sheet-fed system. In doing so, the elan 500 delivers full CMYK color and 1600 dpi print quality at unrivaled speeds up to 500 A4 images per minute.

In the direct mail market, the elan 500 eliminates the need for pre-printed shells, combining printing and personalization with full-color duplex in one pass. The larger, SRA2 (457 mm x 600 mm) format size of the elan 500 opens up a variety of production and application opportunities that are not possible with smaller format devices. The elan 500 also allows customers to print on a wide variety of substrates.

Powerful by design, the elan 500 is differentiated by its high-quality Memjet inkjet print heads, its optional ability to print up to six colors or effects (including up to 2 spot colors, MICR and florescent inks), and its configurability for special applications.

“At Delphax, we’re all about smarter color printing,” said Steve Hubbard, Delphax Vice President of Sales and Marketing for U.S. and Europe. “We understand that today’s market requires an in-house digital printing solution that delivers serious speed, rich color, a compact footprint and proven reliability at a low acquisition cost. The elan 500 delivers on these industry demands as a complete, end-to-end system. Delphax and Memjet are excited to showcase this flagship printer at Drupa 2016.”

In addition to appearing at Drupa 2016, Delphax will be exhibiting at a number of premier print tradeshows and other engagements during the year.

Delphax Announces First elan™ 500 Installation in Canada

MISSISSAUGA, Ontario., March 17, 2015 — Delphax Technologies Canada Limited, a wholly  owned subsidiary of Delphax Technologies Inc. (OTC:DLPX), a global provider of high-speed digital printing equipment, today announced an agreement to install an elan™ 500 cut sheet MICR inkjet press for Public Works and Government Services Canada in Quebec City.

The elan 500 combines major advances in inkjet and paper-handling technologies, providing a robust production class sheet-fed, duplex-capable system offering full CMYK color and 1600 dpi print quality at speeds of up to 500 letter impressions per minute. This placement was achieved in conjunction with elan’s selection as a pre-qualified product in the Canadian government’s coveted Built in Canada Innovation Program (BCIP), a program promoting new and innovative goods and services designed and built in Canada.

“As the first elan customer in Canada, Public Works and Government Services Canada has given us the highest endorsement possible for our technology, which will provide future color growth for applications within Public Works and Government Services Canada,” said Dieter Schilling, president and chief executive officer of Delphax Technologies Inc. “We believe elan offers a combination of cost-effectiveness and color- production quality that has the potential to reshape the market. elan’s price, sheet-fed configuration and performance plus the ability to print MICR documents make it the most versatile and affordable system to date in the market place.”

The elan digital front end (DFE) uses the Harlequin HHR RIP from Global Graphics for both publishing and variable workflow, driven by Delphax’s unique scalable RIP architecture. The intuitive touch-screen interface simplifies the operator experience, keeping input options clear and uncomplicated. Comprehensive reporting systems provide detailed metrics and permit real-time analysis of system performance for printer operators. elan’s combination of speed and sheet size make it the fastest cut sheet inkjet printer in the market today.

elan is Delphax’s response to a growing customer demand for more efficient, versatile and affordable color printing equipment, and it promises to be an ideal platform for commercial print-on-demand challenges in direct mail, transpromotional, billing, statements and book or manual publishing. Its variable data, spot  color and MICR capability are also expected to make elan attractive to many other printing market segments.

A pioneer in digital print production, Delphax has captured the largest worldwide market share in check- printing applications, developing a highly regarded global customer-service and support organization in the process.

“We are positioning elan to have a much broader market appeal than we could ask from our existing monochrome products,” Schilling said. “It represents an entirely new category of digital print technology and offers a combination of price and performance that we believe is unmatched today and long awaited by the market.”
